1. Moab, Utah

Moab, Utah Mountain Bike

Moab has been praised as the greatest mountain biking trail on the planet because of its diversity of trails and terrain that would give any thrill-seeker time of his/her life.

From the easy Klondike Bluffs and the Intrepid Trail System to the challenging Sovereign and Amasa Back, Moab is best in early springtime.

I enjoyed the most famous of these trails, the Slickrock trail, which seems to attract more than 100,000 visitors every year.

2. Curt Gowdy State Park, Cheyenne, Wyoming

If you are in for a thrill, this state park offers high-speed rocky chutes and smooth open-throttle descents.

Curt Gowdy is a 35-mile single trail network that has high plains on the east which meet the Laramie Mountains.

Gowdy has a lot to offer from big-ring cross-country cruisers to smooth and slow rock gardens and intense drop-offs.

You can even get a chance to enjoy the freeride-like wall rides and giant rock roll-downs. Having received an IMBA Epic status last year, the Gowdy Park is an adventurous trail.

3. East Burke, Vermont

Located at a few hours from Burlington and Montreal, Vermont’s the Northeast Kingdom is worth paying a visit to.

The International Mountain Bicycling Association has touted East Burke as a place offering an epic ride. With more than 100 miles of non-motorized singletrack trails, you can enjoy the terrain with an amazing landscape.

East Burke offers different trails for all sorts of mountain bikers. I truly enjoy the wild trails in a rich New England experience.

4. Asheville, North Carolina

Asheville, North Carolina Mountain Bike

For an ultimate ride in the North Carolina Mountains, the Asheville offers an exhilarating biking experience in the midst of beautiful waterfalls and open meadows.

Further from the Pisgah mountain trails, the DuPont State Forest offers a great dirt ride in the granite and sandy soil.

Asheville has been nicknamed the Moab of the South! I love it because I can go there any time of the year and the climate is amazing.

Moreover, the community is beaming with people who are genuinely enthusiastic about cycling.
